VISIT OUR RV NEWS WEBSITE: The Don'ts of RV Travel Day | 7 Essential RV Living Rules #RVLIVING
BOOKMARK ARTICLE:
RV travel days don’t have to be stressful.
Driving or towing a large RV can be quite challenging (especially if you’re traveling with kids or pets). However, we’re here to share 7 rules we follow to make travel day much more enjoyable.
We learned these lessons over 5 years of full time RV living. During the first few years, we had a lot of bad travel days. From those experiences, we finally realized how to make travel days stress free.
Kyle & Olivia, a young couple traveling the country full time in our 16ft vintage camper. We hit the road in September of 2015 with the goal to live a minimal lifestyle and connect with the world around us. We want to share our experiences as we learn and grow, to hopefully help others who dream of life out on the open road. Join us as we discover the joys and obstacles of nomadic life!

Thanks for the reminder. These are some great rules.
Safe Travels
I like the last one the best “Enjoy your journey” You need to slow down so 3 can remember everything on your trip.
Couldn’t agree more with #1. I travel quite a bit by motorcycle and the back roads are a whole lot less stressful and folks aren’t in such a hurry. Keep the good stuff coming. I hope Nora and Olivia are doing well, it looks like you are.
Great video. I also love your lead-in graphics. I agree with the last thing you said, “Enjoy the journey”. I would love to just drive through the small to medium or college towns. Happy Easter weekend. Stay safe.
#8 Don’t arrive to your destination and setup after dark.
Thanks Kyle, We’ve been full time for 3 years and do most of you talked about. We run 65, easier on me tires an fuel mileage. We try to do the 300 mi, 3o’clock rule, chance to unwind… Also, we’re older so bathroom stops are more frequent, but doable. We. always love your videos, God bless….. C-YA
Really great video with some critical tips and lessons learned! One of the things that my wife and I have found works for us is that we try to plan a route that will get us to “a” campground along the way by about 2:00 PM in whatever time zone. For us that still easily allows for 6+ hours of drive time (good progress), and yet we get somewhere early enough that we can do a relaxed set up, take the dog for a nice walk, have a relaxed happy hour and dinner, and get a good night’s sleep! Thanks for sharing!
Great tips! So true about using the restroom before setting up camp at the end of the day 😊
😂😂😂 You do understand that with an RV, you have a bathroom wherever you go right? You’re killin me Smalls!
Excellent video. All I would add is to make sure everything is locked down/ put away as that resounding thump can really raise the old stress levels.
Nice informative video! I met Kyle at the RVillage Rally and he couldn’t be more friendly to myself and the wife, much appreciated! We caught him as he was packing up getting ready to leave the event. We also caught his show under the main tent, very entertaining and you wouldn’t believe the range and amount of tunes on the playlist.
Thank you for such great edits man.
The quality, content and presentation of your videos is outstanding! Keep em coming!
Both you and your wife do a great job on all your videos! Appreciate the great travel tips. Be safe during these troubling times. I am going to pray for your safety.
#1 rule for us is the weather. We don’t travel when the turns bad. We will a buffer in plans if need be. When every the car stops, we check tires, anything attached (kayaks, bikes…) & always use the restroom whether we need to or not. Good list Kyle.
Very good tips! We learned the 350 rule many times over.
100% on point Kyle! Especially on tip #1! Also, “don’t lie to yourself” always helps, 😂🤣
Thanks for the great points! We are so very excited to be out there next year! Cheers
All great points for sure, but i absolutely agree with the relieving yourself befor, durring, and at arrival of the campground. As crazy as people might think it is. Just as you said i also become a bit grumpy if i dont go lol. Great video and safe travels.
#2 is by far my favorite! BOOKMARK ARTICLE: https://drivinvibin.com/2020/03/04/rv-travel-day/
Number 2 is your number one about needing to go #1!!! 😆😆😆 But it applies to #2s as well!
