Oh my lord. Found your newer videos first. Great Scott, Marty. We’ve gone back in time!
Great advice! Overpacking has always been a struggle for me. I’d definitely also recommend considering what your luggage is. If you buy to big of a suitcase/pack then you are more than likely going to overpack. Mix/match is definitely the key. Thanks for the info!
I’m going Backpacking this September with my sister & niece! And I can’t wait !!! So thankful for your channel and all of the tips!!!
Oh my goodness, thank you for actually providing a truly lightweight/minimalist packing video. I am totally on board with all your tips, but I also use Merino wool fabric (naturally odor resistant unlike synthetic), and I am just getting into Tencel/Merino mix. I have just created my channel and will be doing a similar video. I have looked online at female versions on this, and everyone OVERPACKS. They start out by saying don’t over pack, then they pack 5 pairs of shoes…. um hello, that is over packing. Great video, I am glad to see other people that are knowledgeable of the different fabrics out there, and are not afraid to clean their clothes in the sink 😉
Thanks for the tips on choosing a cloth, i’ve never thought about by knowing the material of cloth, i can save times on washing cloth and save my bag so much weight(i always though backpackers usually filled their bag with tons of clothes lol). Gotta start searching for cloth now before my very first backpaking trip in USA, EXCITED!!!
GREAT video guys and filled with surprisingly good / solid information.
The trouble with polyester clothing is that it gets really smelly really fast. Really smelly. I’ve had better luck with poly/cotton blend -still drys faster than all cotton without stinking. Merino wool doesn’t smell and is actually suitable for all climates. Silk is fantastic for tshirts and underwear and long underwear. Quick dry, comfortable and light and small for packing. Good first layer for warmth without weight. Yes, silk and merino are expensive, but you’re packing light and only need a few pieces and companies like Patagonia charge a lot for their polyester anyway. The beauty of natural materials is that they are also biodegradable. Polyester is plastic and plastic is forever – not environmentally friendly. Great video. Good quality and helpful.
same same, but different
Petra44YT silk comes from a silk worm not caterpillars
Silk is disgusting. Made by dead caterpillars 🙁
But you are right on polyester getting really smelly. Which is the reason why I always make sure that my shirts are 100% cotton. Yes, they take two or three days to dry if you handwash them. So I take enough of them to last me for two weeks and everything’s fine.
You are spot on. Merino is excellent. I hike and travel with merino – it dries quickly and is lightweight and does not irritate the skin. I recently bought a pair of merino underwear – as good as my Exofficio, but more natural:)
Very helpful video guys.
How to roll mans polo shirt
Queen_x Xqueen you would have to check your bag, notify them of what your carrying. Call your airline ahead and ask the details!
Wolters World What if you have a gun in your bag because I’m going to travel by foot and I’m thinking of bringing a gun in my bag but I have to take a flight to where I wanna to travel to and then start walking from there my question is how would I get my gun and other survival items past security in the airport?

I love Wolters World
Hey guys, really love your channel I hang out for the new videos every week!
One question, what size are your backpacks (dimensions and literage)? I definitely want to go lightweight travelling but I don’t want to be that person that literally alternates my only two shirts, plus I’m a girl so..
Big love from Adelaide Australia! xx
Thanks for the kind words. I think the satori backpack is 80 liters and the Tilopa is 60. A third of that
Space is for our camera gear. There
Is still plenty of space
I’d love a woman’s edition.
YES!!! PLEASE!!
@Eliza K They’re sold in pharmacies and most grocery stores, though they’re kinda hard to find since they’re either right at the back or on the sides/ far corners of the store itself.
Goodluck!!
Don’t. This is just one big advert. They’re not giving you tips at all, lol.
TRUUUU
Diva and moon cups as well!
Not really packing hacks, just a shopping list, delivered smugly.
Hi CF, it looks that way. Think you should pack what u love and need – not the latest must haves. Not how I travel the world – too much valuable clobber to worry about, lol. Happy travels:)
Hey guys, I love the videos! A question about the Puff Jacket and Shell, did you go one size up on the Shell to counter the bulk of the Puff Jacket, or did you stay true to your own sizing??
No we did the same sizes, they fit nicely together. Cheers
We got the same size for both. But you can always go try them on in a store that sells Patagonia, even if you plan to buy it online ; )
Great video! I love those types of shirts, but I prefer Columbia’s for the prices. For socks, I’d recommend a few wool socks(High wool content-over 60%) You can get by for 2-3 days and it’ll barely smell! With any of the right kinds of clothes, you should be able to wash it each night and it’ll be dry within 4 hours or so!
Do you guys have a favorite all around backpack? Size and brand? I’m more of a minimalist traveler. 2 week trip= 3 Columbia shirts, 1 waterproof- packable jacket, 1 pair of Columbia pants, 2 pairs of shorts, 3 boxers, 3 Smart wool socks, hiking shoes, and sandals. When its cold, 1 set of thermal. Layering is key when its cold!
polyester is the worst fabric to wear in a hot country! I agree it’s light weight and easy to pack but it’s a CLASSIC NONO. Synthetic fibres tend to be water-repellent; they allow sweat to build up, reducing evaporation, and causing discomfort and irritation. I’ve travelled a lot and cotton, linen and rayon is the best material as they’re natural and breathable. Not the best tip ‘material wise’.
aaah men I envy guys when it comes to packing, so much easier! Great tips nevertheless 🙂 Oh and Marko, no need to pull that shirt back down 😉
I reccomend keeping all your clothes in a dry bag/sack. They can be a lifesaver. It’s nice to see you both in Louis and Ben’s vlogs, enjoying your time in the UK. You lovely guys did a great job at helping Louis find his bag.
Super helpful! Thanks for this. The only thing I would recommend is a pair of heavy-duty strap on sandals. They look really stupid, but if you know you’re gonna be somewhere where your shoes will get wet, I would much rather opt for sandals instead of shoes that will get wet and end up smelling like something died in them.
PS. New subscriber from Louis, and I love your videos!
Good advice!
Oh wow super great that you guys make this video!! Because couple days ago in one of the video i have been wondering how do you pack all your things in one travel backpack..Thanks guys. You guys are super awesome 😀
you should do a video about how to choose a backpack ..cheers guys
This was such a great video.
Awesome tips and I got a LOT out of it. Next time I go on a longer trip I am definitely coming back here for future references.
Cheers from Melbourne, Australia. = )
Love Melbourne! Thanks for watching and we’re happy it helped! Cheers and drink a flat white for us 😉
