The Don'ts of Visiting Germany
1. Don't Assume German Are The Cold Stereotypes You Have Heard of Your Whole Life.
2. Don't Jaywalk, so follow the rules in Germany.
3. Don't Forget the Pfand or deposit that you may put down for beer mugs, bottles, cans and other things. You can get that money back.
4. Don't forget to bring flowers or a small gift when visiting a German's home. Also, don't wear your shoes inside their homes.
5. Don't be disrespectful at the Nazi concentration camps and memorials around the country.
6. Don't Wait: when at restaurants or bars order as soon as you can as waiters do not come through to check on tables as often as they do in other countries.
7. Don't Experiment on Driving on the Autobahn. It can be very dangerous for first time drivers.
8. Don't Expect to Shop on Sundays in Germany.
9. Don't forget to bring cash. Germans love to pay in cash and some places will only accept cash. So be ready.
10. Don't expect to see just half timbered houses in Germany. It is a thriving modern country with tons of amazing culture, architecture and technology.

We travel with a Microsoft Surface everywhere we go. I edit my videos on it & use it to backup my pictures and vides while we travel. It’s light and the best travel laptop on the market in my opinion.
We use Sony Alpha series cameras to film our videos. They are compact so you don’t look like a super tourist when you take great pictures and videos while you travel.
We use Manfrotto Tripods. They are compact, travel well, and honestly I would not use another tripod for my nice cameras.
Travel Plug that works in pretty much any country & has four USB ports. A must for any traveler.
Want to grab some great gear? We have used Osprey Packs for years & swear by them. Check them out here
Need some clothing for your next adventure? Patagonia has some pretty good stuff for all kinds of travelers.

Don’t wear brown shirts with that No No symbol!
Has anyone else noticed that Hitler started doing this thing where he would hold his arm and hand backwards over his shoulder? He was the only one who did it. I don’t know why, but I always imagine it was like him accepting people’s heil, as though he was catching their heils. You know?
@Sora64444 *_”What if I get rejected in art school?”_*
Then you can heil yourself in private and start a club…
… don’t Heil at all!!!
@Parzival Und du lebst wahrscheinlich in einer Stadt
I gues looking and jaywalking is more acceptable than just jaywalking.
No FANNY PACKS ( bum bags in Australia) also. And caps with American teams on it.
@Jody’s Journey oh okay cool. Thanks
@Tomato Smoothie it’s a bit of a joke.
@Jody’s Journey so don’t wear white shoes?
It’s a truly beautiful country
Ich liebe Deutschland und bin ich Deutsch lernen.
Love how enthusiastic the country is itself, one of the reasons why I wanted to learn German and visit
Had the same feeling 😍
@Tabi5512 disgusting
… a lot of people are probably thinking that’s cool … 🙄
@Liam L.E. from personal experience I mostly saw other Europeans doing that
@The Pretender Many people outside of Germany think the wrong side won the last war.
@Kornelia Stauch You seem like one of those highly ignorant folks.
If *a bloody book*, no matter the context, tells you to freakin’ murder someone, then rape their family just to kill them them as well afterwards, all while the whole world is watching, would you really do it without hesitating?
Poor people who don’t have the bravery to use their own minds to be aware of the actions they perform.
Also it’s pretty pathetic of you to say that muslims are those who use their beliefs for stuff like that.
I’d say it’s time for you to look up what the differences between ‘Muslims’ and ‘Islamists’ are.
But sure, go ahead and hate an entire collective just because those who don’t fit into our society tend to highly stand out. After all, I suppose blaming, judging and hating is certainly what we can do best, eh?
I myself am certainly not Muslim nor Christian whatsoever. Just an observer who seems to share the same country as yours.
Actually if the train leaves at 301ppm if you show up at 302 it’s gone
@Kayara Espunkt ice maybe. When i drove with Meridian i got Refunds. Maybe they have different rules there
@Sarah Bentague nope. That’s not true.
If you are 60 minutes or more later at you destination as you booked you can get a refund of 25%. From 2 hours on and more you can get a 50% refund.
Under 60 Minutes you’ll get nothing.
If you have an ICE Ticket for a specific train only you’re allowed to use any kind of train (any ICE, even Sprinter, RB and RE) along your route if it helps to get to your destination. Unfortunately it’s not allowed to use ICE trains when you have only a ticket for regional trains. In this case must stick to Regionalbahn and RegionalExpress but you’re allowed to to use every train of this kind to get to your destination.
Up to five minutes delay the Deutsche Bahn trains are officially on time.
you don’t have to, it has no valuable information.
@HCLionheart, I am a former Army wife. We were stationed in Bamberg. We came back on 7/2/2001 and I cried. I want to become a German citizen.
How can an American end up becoming a German citizen?
Yo tam bien
Na dann moin
I’m from Germany and the numbers you metion are not true at all.
Complete BS!
@irgendwer00101010 just from seeing the length and i thought the longest official word was shorter i thought it was fake but the word makes sense lol
Funny
@7OWN sounds like Berlin… they talk too much…
No mate. It’s like that. You drive 200 on the left lane and suddenly a 1990-2000 opel Corsa drives left lane with 70-80 km/h for no reason almost killing ya‘all. Lemme tell Ya, that happens to me every day. 🤣🤣 on my way to Darmstadt/ Frankfurt
Applies to all human societies.
HAHAHAHHAH! I’m a Tunisian-German and that’s so true!
Sometimes I throw a bottle into the normal trash when I am too lazy to bring it to the bottle bank. Hope nobody in our house finds out so I am not loosing my German citizenship.
When I first went to 🇩🇪 Germany, I was amused at the billboard sized speed signs that were recommendations “Nicht snelle als” not faster than”. Lol. I also heard here in USA a couple from Heidelberg said if you pass on right on Autobahn is big Nein Nein and could lose your license forever. Ja, dann? Richtig Oder falsch? Die antwort bitte?
@El Basso… some even more like (their) kids … 😒
@Nina it’s almost like cars are very expensive and I don’t pay for it to be a bench
No, they aren’t.
And leaning on someone elses car is super impolite anywhere.
@zaffles aaand the rest of the world
That it needs to be spelled out doesn’t inspire faith in humanity.
It’s a sad reflection on our society that it needed to be said to be honest.
@spbustarhymes
You don’t have empathy, you are just a coward. Otherwise your policy would concern medieval dungeons and antique places of worship.
You people are such unbearable hypocrits.
I bet you take vacation photos at tge Tower of London and at Aztec Pyramids.
@Miguel Who is this ” they” you speak of?
Der titel ruft. Da Hosnträgr is ma abgrissn
